On the route, not a detour

Our routes towards Catalonia, northern Spain and Europe cross the province every week, so Valencia is a regular loading and unloading area rather than a trip that has to be paid for separately. That changes the price of an ADR shipment, which rarely fills a whole truck.

The Port of Valencia also handles most of the containerised traffic on the Peninsula, and with it much of the classified cargo entering and leaving the country. We cover the road leg of those goods, with accredited drivers and the documentation the Agreement requires.

What we carry under ADR in the province

Classified goods from Valencian industry, packaged and palletised:

Containerised hazardous goods Port

Classified goods loading or discharging at Valencia and Sagunto, with the road leg and terminal formalities included.

Chemicals and ceramic glazes Industry

Frits, glazes, additives and packaged chemicals from the province's industrial estates and the ceramics belt.

Paints, varnishes and solvents Flammables

Materials from the furniture, timber and processing industries, in approved packaging and with reinforced securing.

Components and batteries Automotive

Classified goods from the automotive supply industry of the Ribera, packaged and secured in line with their class.

Crop protection products and fertilisers Agriculture

Products for the farming of the Ribera, the Safor and the Costera, under the class and packing group stated in the safety data sheet.

A truck that already passes through

Because the province is on our weekly run, the cost of the job changes: instead of charging for an empty trip out to load, we use a truck that already passes through. With hazardous goods, where a shipment is usually just a few pallets, that difference is what decides the price.

The same run lets us link the Valencia load with a delivery in the south-east, so classified goods do not sit in your warehouse for days waiting for a route to come together.

What we check on every shipment

ADR transport document stating the nature of the goods
Instructions in writing for emergency response
Driver's ADR training certificate, in date
Orange plates and hazard labels for the relevant class
Approved packaging, secured load and incompatible products separated
Vehicle safety and fire-fighting equipment inspected

Frequently asked questions

Do you have your own warehouse in Valencia?

No. Our facilities are in Cuevas del Almanzora, Almería, including the chemical storage warehouse built to APQ regulations. In Valencia we operate in transit, loading and unloading, taking advantage of the province being on our regular routes to the north and to Europe.

What do you need in order to quote an ADR job?

The product's safety data sheet — that is where the UN number, the class and the packing group come from — plus the quantity, the type of packaging and the origin and destination. With that we can confirm on what terms we can run the job and quote a price.

Do you collect hazardous goods at the Port of Valencia?

Yes. We cover the road leg of containers carrying classified goods, arrange the slot booking and gate-in at the terminal and return the empty to the relevant depot. We also work with the port of Sagunto.

Can you take ADR goods from Valencia to Almería or Murcia?

It is one of our most common movements: the Mediterranean corridor has always been our route. By linking it with loads we already run in the area, the price is usually better than a journey booked on its own.
