APQ space half an hour away, with no facility to open in the Region

Our APQ zone is in Cuevas del Almanzora, in the Levante almeriense, a little over half an hour from the Region on the A-7: 1,500 square metres licensed since 2017 for the storage of chemical products, able to take ADR goods. The facility is ours and it is in Almería; what we make available to a company in Murcia is the space and the operation, not a warehouse inside the Region.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A chemical storage facility is licensed where it stands, with its engineering project, its responsible declaration filed with the authorities and its periodic inspections. Storing your product with us means there is no new facility to open, maintain or justify in Murcia: the administrative burden sits with the warehouse, and the warehouse is ours.

What we store for customers in the Region

The Region concentrates chemical industry, agrochemicals and plastics processing, and nearly all of that product travels packaged and palletised:

Process aids and raw materials Industry

Product the plant consumes in batches, which need not take up room inside the works while it waits.

Crop protection and plant nutrition Agricultural

Treatment and fertiliser products for the Campo de Cartagena and the Valle del Guadalentín, arriving by season and leaving in stages.

Water treatment reagents Water

Products for desalination, irrigation and wastewater treatment, with families that must be kept in separate zones by incompatibility.

Solvents, paints and coatings Flammable

Packaged goods needing a zone of their own, kept away from heat sources, with the fire safety measures their classification requires.

Additives for plastics processing Processing

Chemical process aids for the plastics and packaging industry, with high turnover and frequent small orders.

Packaged ADR goods Hazardous goods

Products classified as dangerous for transport, arriving and leaving in our own ADR lorries without changing operator.

Moving product off site only works if it comes back quickly

Keeping chemical products away from the factory has an obvious drawback: when you need them, you need them now. An off-site buffer store only works if the return journey is short and frequent, and if the lorry bringing it back can carry hazardous goods. Almería and Murcia are a single working area for us, with daily departures on the A-7 and ADR-licensed drivers in the regular fleet, not as a special arrangement.

That allows replenishment to be turned on its head: instead of holding months of stock inside the works — where space is most expensive and most tightly constrained by the operating licence — the product is kept off site and brought in small batches, at whatever rate consumption actually demands. The load leaves Cuevas del Almanzora and is in the Region in a little over half an hour.

What we check on every arrival and departure

CLP labelling and safety data sheet of the goods received
Placement in a zone segregated by incompatibility between substances
Retention bunds, drainage and spill containment
Inventory control and a register of every substance stored
ADR paperwork for the consignment and the transport document
Vehicle and driver accredited for the goods being loaded

Why store with us if you operate in Murcia

01
No new facility

Nothing to license, maintain or have inspected inside the Region: ours has been in order since 2017.

02
Genuinely close

Half an hour on the A-7, with daily departures on the Almería–Murcia corridor rather than an occasional service.

03
Storage and ADR transport together

The same operator holds the product and moves it, with our own Safety Adviser and accredited drivers.

04
Frees up the works

Waiting stock stops taking up space inside the plant, where it is most expensive and most constrained.

05
No committed floor space

You pay for the space you occupy, which with seasonal product is rarely the same all year round.

Collection and delivery across the Region

We work Murcia city and its metropolitan area (Molina de Segura, Alcantarilla, Espinardo), the Campo de Cartagena (Cartagena, Torre Pacheco, Fuente Álamo, San Javier), the Valle del Guadalentín (Lorca, Totana, Alhama), Águilas and Mazarrón, the Vega del Segura and the Altiplano (Yecla, Jumilla). The APQ zone is in Almería; what moves is the lorry.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have an APQ warehouse inside the Region of Murcia?

No, and we would rather be plain about it: our APQ zone is in Cuevas del Almanzora, in Almería, a little over half an hour from the Region on the A-7. What we do run daily is the corridor between the two provinces, so in practice the product is as available as if it were next door.

What products can you take?

It depends on their classification. Before committing to anything we ask for the safety data sheet and the CLP labelling, look at what the product is incompatible with and which zone it needs, and confirm whether it fits. We would rather say no in good time than accept goods we cannot place properly.

Do you store products in bulk or in tanks?

We work with packaged and palletised goods: drums, jerrycans, sacks and IBC containers on pallets. Bulk storage in tanks is a different facility under different regulations, and it is not what we offer.

How much notice do you need for a replenishment?

Less than people usually expect. Because we run the Almería–Murcia corridor every day, we can fit a departure into whatever time slot your operation needs without booking days ahead. What does help to know from the outset is exactly which product it is, since that determines the vehicle and the paperwork.

Do you handle the return leg yourselves?

Yes, with our own fleet and ADR-licensed drivers. That is precisely the advantage of having the warehouse and the lorries under one roof: the hazardous goods never change hands between whoever holds them and whoever moves them, and the consignment paperwork comes out of the same office.
